About EHA

Equilibrium Healing Arts is my life’s work, combining my love of massage, yoga, and other healing modalities. I’m thrilled and honored to bring my passions together to support my community, both local & far-flung.

I first fell in love with Yoga via Iyengar and Kundalini styles in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This was in 1997, and after an informal home practice for a few years, I joined a weekly Sivananda class in 1999, after moving to Tampa, FL. I was approached by my day job to teach yoga in 2005, and have been loving teaching since.

My first yoga teacher, from Tampa, started practicing Thai massage, and I fell in love with that style in 2007. After several Thai trainings with her (Ariela Grodner, at the amazing Bodhi Sangha), I moved to WNC and enrolled in the Asheville School of Massage & Yoga in 2008. I’ve been practicing massage & bodywork since 2009.

I’m an OG anatomy geek, and I love being exposed to different methods of healing. Because of this, I offer an integrated massage which draws from a rich variety of modalities. I might include polarity, cupping, and sound healing into a deep tissue massage. It all depends on how your body presents and how it feels.

There’s nothing I love more than teaching yoga, doing massage, and teaching massage. I’ve been fortunate to grow up in a family that promoted alternative medicine, and to have lived in the Netherlands for my childhood. This exposed me to many healing modalities, such as acupuncture, Ayurveda, homeopathy, Watsu, many styles of Yoga, ashrams & intentional communities, geomancy, slow and organic food, wellness massage, and more… :)

I’m honored to weave my various passions together in Equilibrium Healing Arts. Thanks for being here.
